From 1 July 2026, every online betting operator serving Irish customers needs a GRAI remote betting licence. Online casino licensing follows as a separate phase. This page tracks both — and is updated as the GRAI issues licences.
Remote betting (online bookmakers)
The first GRAI remote betting and betting intermediary licences commenced on 1 July 2026. Licensed operators must verify age, pay out winnings, close accounts on request, and may not accept credit cards or facilitate gambling on credit.

Remote gaming (online casino)
Online casino products — slots, roulette, blackjack and other games of chance played online — fall under the Act's remote gaming licence category, which is being commenced after betting, during 2026–2027.

That independence is the point of this directory.
